Loving, Learning and Living like Jesus. We are (and strive to be) a future oriented, caring and child focussed community, celebrating and treasuring individual gifts.
St Joseph's Primary School, Bulahdelah, is a small Kindergarten to Year 6 Catholic systemic school servicing the town of Bulahdelah and surrounding communities including Tea Gardens, Hawks Nest, Pacific Palms, Coolongolook, Wootton, Markwell and Girvan.
With a caring and intimate family-like community built on a genuine care and compassion for its students, the school offers high-quality education supported by excellent facilities and 21st century technology.
Students and staff enjoy the comforts of a modern, air-conditioned and well-resourced teaching environment in a pleasant rural setting. The large, beautiful grounds include a soccer field, covered play space, basketball court, cubby house and peace garden.
The school gives students the opportunity to use their gifts and reach their potential through a variety of academic, sporting, cultural and spiritual experiences and activities. Students can compete in sport at state and national level, join the school choir or be involved in a range of environmental initiatives including tending to the vegetable garden and the native gardens. The school has also embedded 'Crunch and Sip' and is 'Asthma Friendly'.
St Joseph’s has a strong focus on information technology and interactive smart screens are used regularly in classrooms. The school also has the ability to collaborate with schools across the diocese and the world via their video conferencing connection. We have a range of STEM resources that our students use in different key learning areas.
Quality teaching is provided by exceptional educators at St Joseph’s and the small class sizes allows the school to provide an individual educational environment to cater for all student’s needs.
The school has a strong anti-bullying policy that ensures all bullying and anti-social behaviour is not tolerated. The school also incorporates Make Jesus Real which gives students the skills to become strong, independent and compassionate learners.
The school offers a transition program for new Kindergarten enrolments before they commence school, giving them an experience with a classroom teacher to help make the transition from preschool to primary school a smooth one.
St Joseph's is actively involved in the Myall Coast Parish and local community, with students able to visit the local nursing home and perform at local events such as the regional Bulahdelah show.
For students travelling from the Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest areas there is a private bus available to catch to and from school every day. Students of St Joseph's Primary School, Bulahdelah, are encouraged to continue their Catholic education by attending St Clare's High School, Taree or Catherine McAuley College, Medowie.
